Catholic Community, Culture, and Caring School Climate Survey
The Education Act is the Ontario law that governs what school boards must do to educate and support students. This law directs school boards to use anonymous surveys to collect feedback from students, school staff, and parents and guardians about school climate. The Ministry of Education requires that this survey asks questions about peer inclusion, school supports and rules, feelings of safety, identity representation, exclusion, bullying, student response to bullying, and whether experiences of exclusion and/or bullying are related to identity and/or student personal characteristics. School boards must collect this information at least once every two years.
The Catholic Community, Culture, and Caring (CCCC) School Climate Survey is the survey that Â鶹´«Ã½ uses to collect the school climate information required by the Education Act. This survey has three versions: one for students, one for parents and guardians, and one for school staff. All three versions are voluntary and anonymous. That means that people can choose whether they answer the survey, and nobody will know who filled it out when staff look at the data.
The CCCC School Climate Survey asks students questions about their heritage and culture, gender, grade, learning needs, and, if they are in secondary school, their religion. It also asks them about: how much they feel they belong at school, their emotions and well-being, and how they are treated at school.
